3rd Generation Family Owned Business.  

Signal Garage auto Care is a family owned full-service automotive repair shop serving clients all over the Twin Cities.  We have been in business for 3 generations, since the early twenties when Trygve Wessel got in to the car repair business in West Saint Paul, he built his first service garage at the corner of Annapolis and Dodd (on the boarder of St Paul and W. St. Paul). The business has grown, moved, expanded, and been purchased by Trygve’s granddaughter Heidi and her husband Rami Derhy. 

4th generation just joined.   

Rami worked as a mechanic for years (since 1983) when the shop was owned by Fred Wessel (Heidi’s father); in 1998 the Derhy’s bought the business enabling Fred to retire to some place warmer.  Heidi is working in the business too, just as her grandmother did doing the bookkeeping.  And now the 4th generation is on-board as well, our son Avi who graduated from Dakota County Technical Collage as a technician joined us recently, and has been a great help in carrying the load of our busy auto repair and maintenance business.

Large facility:

In 2007 we bought Brenna Rustproofing & Exhaust, a specialty exhaust and automotive rustproof business that was in the back of our building. We merged the 2 business together and now we are able to accommodate the high demand for a quality auto repair business, serving clients from the surrounding cities and neighborhoods; St Paul, West St. Paul, So. St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Inver Grove Heights, Sunfish Lake, Egan, and many other clients who come from all over the Twin Cities. 

Partnership:

In 2008 Dave Ydstie joined us as a Service adviser. Dave have proven to us that he is a great person who cares about our customers, about the employees and about the business, he proved to be a big asset for the business, and in in 2010 we invited Dave to become our partner in the business, which he accepted.

Second Location:

In February 2011 we opened our second shop on Grand and Cleveland in St Paul, and Avi our son is now working at that store. we are very thankful for the opportunity to serve more people and to offer the same female friendly environment at that location.

 Trained Staff:

Our staff is highly trained in automotive maintenance and repair as well as caring for people, we also have specific training for working with women as we are the only Female Friendly Shop in the cities. Our technicians are nationally certified, we have an import auto specialist, Hybrid specialist, Diesel specialist, and of course all of our technicians are highly trained to repair and maintain domestic cars as well. All of us are here to offer expert diagnosis and advice, as well as fast and accurate repair.
