The catalytic converter can be found in the exhaust system, between the muffler and the exhaust manifold. Those gases go thru chemical reaction in the catalytic convertor and change into less harmful emissions like nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water.

In most cases, when there is a problem with the catalytic convertor operation, the “Check Engine” or “Service Engine Soon” light will appear on your dashboard (these lights are Orange in color).
